He won the bronze medal in the F57 javelin throw today, after the gold won by the Iranian Amanolah Papi on Monday (10) was invalidated. The mark of 50.09m obtained by Amanolah Papi was reviewed after an appeal filed by the opponents. They claimed that Papi did not maintain the correct positioning at the time of throwing the F57 javelin (athletes who compete in a wheelchair due to spinal cord injuries, amputations or sequelae of poliomyelitis). With the exclusion of the first place, Cícero Nobre, who had initially ended the dispute in fourth place (48.31m), rose to third place. |Gold went to Turk Mummahet Khalvandi, who had won silver with 49.98m, and silver went to Uzbek Yorkinbek Odilov, 49.39m, who previously won bronze. “I was even a little surprised [de receber o aviso da medalha]. It feels like justice has been done. The technological resource detected after the test that the first place burned in the test. I’m very happy, my second Worlds in my career. Just happiness”, said Cícero, in a statement to the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (B) website.
